Lawmakers are reviewing a draft law to regulate the management of the country's fire and rescue personnel, protect their legal rights, and strengthen supervision over their operations.
Applicants for social assistance are required to provide true and accurate information, which will receive enhanced protection under a draft law currently being reviewed by lawmakers.
The draft of China's first law dedicated to national firefighters and rescue personnel was submitted to the standing committee of the top legislature for its reading on Wednesday.
China is improving its social assistance system to better ensure basic living support and provide a stronger safety net for people in need, according to a bill under review by lawmakers on Wednesday.
