BEIJING -- The top legislature will review the State Council's reports on the central government's final accounts for 2012 at an upcoming session, according to a statement issued after a committee chairpersons' meeting held Friday.
Legislators are expected to examine and approve the final accounts during the upcoming session of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), which is scheduled to run from June 26 to 29, the statement said.
Participants at Friday's meeting, which was presided over by NPC Standing Committee Chairman Zhang Dejiang, also proposed deliberating the State Council's report on the implementation of the central budget for 2012 and an auditing work report on other fiscal revenue and expenditures for 2012.
Other documents to be deliberated at the meeting include a draft law on the safety of special equipment, or equipment that operates under high pressure, temperature or speed and poses a potential threat to public safety, a draft amendment to the Environmental Protection Law and a draft amendment to the Trademark Law.
Legislators are scheduled to review the State Council's reports on law enforcement in public security organs and urbanization as well as financial reform and development in the country's rural areas.
Participants at the forthcoming session will also discuss bills that have been submitted by the State Council, including proposals to review draft amendments to 12 laws and two agreements regarding the procedures for organizing and conducting joint anti-terrorism exercises with member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Legislators will also discuss several appointments and removals.
During Friday's meeting, participants heard a report on the amendment to the procedural rules concerning NPC Standing Committee chairpersons' meetings.
