BEIJING -- Wang Chen, vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, has called for solid enforcement of the Higher Education Law.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks while leading a team to review the enforcement of the law in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province from July 22 to 25.
Noting that the province has made remarkable achievements in terms of higher education, Wang stressed that the Party's leadership on the work of higher education should be enhanced.
He also urged efforts to improve the capability of talent cultivation, promote the reform and innovation of higher education, and support major national strategies.
