BEIJING -- The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) held a chairpersons' meeting Friday to hear reports on the deliberations of draft laws and resolutions.
Li Zhanshu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, presided over the meeting.
Li Fei, chairman of the NPC Constitution and Law Committee, reported on the review results of a draft law on encryption, and draft resolutions on clarifying the National Supervisory Commission's power to formulate supervisory regulations, adjusting the implementation of laws to further cut red tape in pilot free trade zones, as well as authorizing the jurisdiction of Macao's port zone at Hengqin port and extended areas to the Macao Special Administrative Region.
Yang Zhenwu, secretary-general of the NPC Standing Committee, reported on the deliberations of NPC deputy qualifications as well as official appointments and dismissals, among others.
Xin Chunying, deputy secretary-general of the NPC Standing Committee, briefed the meeting on new personnel appointment and dismissal matters.
The meeting decided to submit the above final drafts to the ongoing bimonthly session of the NPC Standing Committee for review.
