On Dec 29, 2021, Chen Zhu, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairman of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP) Central Committee, led a survey on grassroots organizational construction at the Advanced Innovation Center for Food Nutrition and Human Health at the China Agricultural University in Beijing. 

Qu Fenghong, vice-chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee, and Deng Rongling, secretary-general and head of the Organization Department of the CPWDP Central Committee, participated in the survey.

They visited the epidemiology and health assessment center, human health museum, body metabolism room and other places at the China Agricultural University, and listened to briefings and had discussions with staff members of the university. 

At the symposium, Chen expressed appreciation for the Communist Party of China Committee of the China Agricultural University for its strong support for the multi-party cooperation over the years. Chen fully affirmed the work of the CPWDP's China Agricultural University Branch in organizational construction, participation in State affairs and duty performance.

He pointed out that China's modernization is inseparable from agricultural and rural modernization. The key to agricultural and rural modernization lies in science and technology and talents. As a political party with Chinese characteristics engaged in medicine and health, population resources and ecological environment, the CPWDP should give priority to its advantages in human resources and actively perform its duties of participating in State affairs and serving the country and the people. 

First, CPWDP members should study in-depth and understand the spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, establish a correct view of history of the CPC, and hold fast to the original intention of multi-party cooperation.

Second, the members should perform their duties and make contributions to the country's high-quality development.

Third, the members should attach importance to the role of grassroots organizations, enhance cohesion, and provide guarantee for the performance of duties and self-construction of the  CPWDP.

Yu Luming, vice-chairman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and director of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPWDP, presided over the symposium. Jiang Peimin, secretary of the CPC Committee of the China Agricultural University, delivered a speech.
