Wang Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and vice-chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, held a video meeting with Cheam Yeap, first vice-president of the National Assembly of Cambodia on Aug 26 in Beijing.
Wang said that China and Cambodia have enjoyed an ironclad friendship and are committed to building a community with a shared future.
He said that the NPC is willing to work together with the National Assembly of Cambodia to play an active role in promoting practical bilateral cooperation in various fields, advance the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and safeguard common interests.
Cheam Yeap said that Cambodia firmly adheres to the one-China policy and that the Cambodian National Assembly also hopes to cooperate with China’s NPC to deepen legislative exchanges and contribute to the well-being and friendship of both peoples.
