A high-profile seminar for parliamentarians from English-speaking African countries was recently organized in China, inviting political figures from the legislative bodies of eight African countries - Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, the Seychelles, Somalia, Uganda, and Zambia - to take an in-depth look at China's democratic practices and socioeconomic development.
With the theme of the legislative body's mission in a country's path to modernization, the seminar aimed to explore the most appropriate development paths that fit these countries' diverse reality in a bid to build a stronger China-Africa community with a shared future by visiting leading enterprises in Shenzhen, Jiangmen, and Guangzhou of Guangdong province and meeting with representatives from local legislature.
Their three-day tour wrapped up on April 28.
