Biodiversity and culture exploration: IPU General Secretary and delegations in Kunming, SW China’s Yunnan

KUNMING - Inter-Parliamentary Union General Secretary Martin Chungong and delegations from the 5th Seminar of Parliaments of developing countries set on the field trip themed on biodiversity and culture preservation in Kunming city, Southwest China's Yunnan province, on July 10, 2023.

The group of people visited the nature reserve of Dianchi Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Yunnan province. Then they watched the traditional Dian Opera performance in the Guandu Ancient Town on the northeast bank of Dianchi Lake. Dian Opera is China's national intangible cultural heritage with a history of 200 years.
