The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress conducted a survey in Dongguan, South China's Guangdong province, on July 14, focusing on the city's economic performance in the first half of the year.

The NPC team visited major high-tech projects and enterprises, such as the second phase of the Chinese Spallation Neutron Source, Shengyi Electronics Co Ltd, a national enterprise specializing in the production of high-precision, high-density and high-quality printed circuit boards, and Guangdong Greenway Technology Co Ltd, to learn about the progress of the projects, production, research, development and promotion of new products of the enterprises in Dong Guan.

The team members also exchanged ideas with local officials and entrepreneurs and provided suggestions on the city's high-quality development.

The NPC team affirmed Dongguan's efforts on promoting industrial transformation and upgrading, and advancing the innovation-driven development. They encouraged the enterprises to continuously improve the level of intelligent manufacturing, and achieve greater results in boosting high-end manufacturing.

The team stressed the need to further optimize local business environment, strengthen the confidence of enterprises for future development. They also called for more attention to the changes of local economy and suggested to timely optimize and update policies, and fulfill key tasks with effectiveness and help move forward the quality economic development in Dongguan.
