At the invitation of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Li Hongzhong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People's Congress, will lead a delegation to visit the DPRK from July 26. Li will attend commemorative events that mark the 70th anniversary of the armistice of the Korean war (1950-1953), Hu Zhaoming, spokesperson for the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, announced on July 24.
