Xi's special envoy attends inauguration ceremony of Mexican president

At the invitation of the Mexican government, Tie Ning, special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, attended the presidential inauguration ceremony of Claudia Sheinbaum on Oct 1 in Mexico city, capital of Mexico. Sheinbaum met with Tie after the ceremony.

Tie, vice-chairwoman of China's National People's Congress Standing Committee, conveyed warm congratulations and good wishes from President Xi to Sheinbaum, and expressed condolences to the Mexican side on its loss in the recent hurricane disaster.

She said that, in recent years, the strategic, complementary and mutually beneficial nature of the China-Mexico comprehensive strategic partnership has become increasingly prominent, adding that China is willing to strengthen strategic alignment with Mexico and be a trustworthy friend and a good partner for common development on the path to modernization.

Sheinbaum asked Tie to convey her deep respect and sincere greetings to Xi, expressing gratitude for Xi sending a special envoy to attend her inauguration ceremony.

She said that Mexico and China are good partners who help each other, noting that the new Mexican government highly values its relations with China, and is ready to further enhance friendly exchanges in various fields between the two countries to push for greater development in Mexico-China relations.
