Losang Jamcan, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, attended the opening ceremony of a seminar of parliamentarians from ASEAN countries in Beijing on Nov 20.

In his speech at the event, he expressed hope that the seminar, which had the theme of exploring a new path for modernization and jointly building a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, would strengthen cooperation between legislative bodies, so as to consolidate consensus on development, promote mutual learning among civilizations and contribute to further cooperation between China and ASEAN in various fields.
