Jiangxi is actively promoting the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation, with enterprises at the forefront and market demand as the guiding force, deputies to the National People's Congress said during an open day event of Jiangxi's NPC delegation on Thursday.

In the past year, the province launched and implemented the Pioneer 2030 Project, a science and technology initiative aimed at addressing technological challenges and aligning with national strategic adjustments in scientific and technological capabilities, said Song Dexiong, a deputy of Jiangxi province's delegation to the 14th NPC and head of the province's Science and Technology Department.

As a result of these efforts, Jiangxi has established a laboratory system and developed a technology achievement transformation service framework to expedite the conversion of scientific achievements into tangible productivity, according to Song.

Yin Hong, Party Secretary of Jiangxi, highlighted that over the past year, Jiangxi has strengthened its leadership in technological innovation, fully promoted the digital transformation of manufacturing, enhanced the development of high-tech enterprises, and propelled the rapid growth of emerging industries.

The province is focusing on six key areas to strategically position future industries and make industrial development a central feature of its economic growth, he said.

Looking ahead, Song said that Jiangxi will further establish the concept of "research equals industry", with enterprises as the core and market demand as the guide, propelling the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation.

Luo Sihai, secretary of the Party Committee of Nanchang University, said the university is "actively integrating into Jiangxi's technology transfer and transformation service system to expedite the transformation of scientific achievements".

"For instance, the technology of 'GaN-based blue light-emitting diodes on silicon substrates' in the field of materials science generates an annual downstream output value of about 20 billion yuan ($2.76 billion). Additionally, research and development achievements in food science have been industrialized, leading to sales revenue exceeding 10 billion yuan."
