Updated: 2026-09-30

The inspection team of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee held its second plenary meeting on Sept 24 to discuss the inspection report on the enforcement of the Law on Building Accessible Environments. Wang Dongming, Zheng Jianbang, and Cai Dafeng, vice-chairpersons of the NPC Standing Committee, attended the meeting.

After hearing relevant reports, opinions, and suggestions, Wang noted that it is necessary to thoroughly implement the decisions and plans of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, further revise and improve the inspection report on law enforcement in accordance with statutory duties and legal provisions, and put forward pragmatic and effective suggestions on legal systems and institutional mechanisms.

He called for solid follow-up work by the NPC Standing Committee, including deliberation on the inspection report and stronger follow-up oversight, so as to ensure tangible results in related fields.

Taking this inspection as an opportunity, future efforts should focus on key and difficult issues in law enforcement and on the pressing concerns of the public, so as to solidly advance this work during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30) and provide the public with a more convenient, accessible, and considerate environment, he added.
