The top legislature on Friday heard a draft law on international criminal judicial assistance, which will promote international cooperation in hunting fugitives and recovering assets.

The legislators hailed the country's draft environment tax law as "clear and practical," and called for improved rules on the use of tax revenue and penalties for tax frauds.
"These words and actions have openly challenged the Basic Law, hampered the normal operation of the authorities of the Hong Kong SAR and undermined the rule of law in Hong Kong," the statement said.
Legislators discussed a draft amendment to the law on promoting small and medium-sized enterprises on Thursday.
The proposal is consistent with a stipulation in the Law on Compulsory Education, which says compulsory education is a free, charitable cause with national financial support, said legislator Wu Heng at Tuesday's panel discussion.
