BEIJING -- The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) held a chairpersons' meeting Friday afternoon to review draft laws and resolutions.
The chairman and vice chairpersons reviewed opinions from lawmakers on draft revisions to the law against unfair competition and the standardization law; amendments to the criminal law and another 11 laws; a draft law on public libraries.
They also reviewed opinions on a draft decision on expanding a pilot program of supervision system reform, a draft decision on temporary adjusting application of laws and regulations during armed police reform, and on extending a pilot program of land use reform.
The meeting was presided over by Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee.
Legislators also reviewed draft decisions to add the new National Anthem Law to Annex III of the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Annex III in the Basic Law of the Macao SAR, which regulates national laws to be applied in the two regions.
After further revisions, the documents will be reviewed at the next meeting of the chairman and vice chairs, during which they will decide whether to put them to vote.
