China's top legislator meets Slovak president

BEIJING -- Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), met with Slovak President Peter Pellegrini in Beijing on Wednesday.

China is willing to work with Slovakia to continuously enhance strategic mutual trust, and deepen high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and cooperation in economy, trade, artificial intelligence and new energy, while promoting people-to-people bonds, Zhao said.

He said the NPC of China stands ready to carry out friendly exchanges with the Slovak National Council in fields such as legislation and supervision, which is expected to better serve the cooperation between the two countries.

Pellegrini said that the two countries' adherence to mutual respect, sovereign equality and continuous dialogue has laid a foundation for the long-term and sound development of bilateral relations.

Slovakia is willing to enhance exchanges with China to promote understanding, deepen mutual trust and expand cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, he added.
