BEIJING -- A package of draft revisions to 17 laws, including the Product Quality Law and the Food Safety Law, was submitted to an ongoing bi-monthly session of the top legislature Sunday. The package, the third batch since April, contains seven laws affected by the institutional reform by central authorities.

A key institutional reform plan was adopted by the National People's Congress (NPC) on March 17.

The new package also covers draft revisions addressing the need to further streamline administration, enhance compliance oversight and provide better services, as well as expansion of a trial reform on the social security system.
