BEIJING -- The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) held a chairpersons' meeting Wednesday morning before the closing of its regular session.

Li Zhanshu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, presided over the meeting.

It was decided at the meeting that a draft revision to the law on the prevention and control of environmental pollution by solid waste and a draft decision to authorize the State Council to temporarily adjust relevant laws and regulations in the Hainan pilot free trade zone, among others, would be submitted for voting at the closing meeting of the NPC Standing Committee session.
