Draft revision to law on preventing juvenile delinquency gets 2nd reading

BEIJING -- A draft revision to China's law on the prevention of juvenile delinquency was submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) for a second reading on Saturday.

The draft stipulates, among other things, that schools should employ full-time or part-time teachers to educate students on the rule of law.

Depending on the circumstances, schools can also hire deputy principals and off-campus instructors to facilitate rule of law education, according to the draft amendment.

China will step up the construction of schools for minors guilty of serious delinquent conduct, read the draft.

The draft will be discussed at the 21st session of the Standing Committee of the 13th NPC, which runs till Aug. 11.
