A digital platform of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress, known as Jiangxi Digital People's Congress, was launched in Nanchang on Jan 12.

Zhao Liping, secretary of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress, Liu Qiang, deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress, Ma Zhiwu, Hu Shizhong, Zeng Wenming, and Zhang Xiaoping, deputy directors of the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress, attended the ceremony.

Han Jun, secretary-general of the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress, presided over the ceremony.

The platform is closely integrated with the actual work of the people's congress, focusing on the functions of study and publicity, legislation and supervision, duty performance and conference services, which is a major step to promote innovation in the congress's daily work, Zhao said at the ceremony. 

The platform will serve as a "digital bridge" between the congress and the public in fulfilling their duties and representing the people at all levels, as well as a window to show the development of whole-process people's democracy in the province and innovative development and upgrade of local people's congresses in the new era, Zhao added.

In the next step, Zhao said, the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress will continue to improve and upgrade the digital congress and make the provincial congress a frontrunner in inheriting the traditions of revolution, advancing  innovation and development of the people's congress's work, and improving conduct, which will make new and greater contributions to building a socialist modern Jiangxi in all respects.

The Information Center of the NPC said in its congratulatory letter that the digital congress strives to create a convenient and efficient mobile platform and a cloud channel to better support the work of the NPC, serve deputies and connect with the public.

To better digitalize the NPC in the new era requires joint efforts of the people's congresses at all levels, the letter said, adding that the people's congresses must seek truth and be pragmatic, maintain integrity and innovate, strengthen overall planning and active cooperation, continuously promote the high-quality development of digitalization and make new contributions to the whole-process people's democracy and the improvement of the people's congress system following the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee.

Jing Xiandong, chairman of Ant Group, said in his video message that 90 years ago, Jiangxi pioneered the people's congress system. Today, Jiangxi has taken a new step in the innovative work of the people's congress in the new era.

He said Ant Group will fully support the continuous iterative upgrade of the digital congress, making it a model for the digital development of the people's congress system, in which deputies and the public get things done more efficiently with the help of data and information, public opinions more easily heard and the public's participation in social governance more fruitful.

The digital congress will be available to the deputies at the upcoming Sixth Session of the 13th Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress for the first time.

The conference feature of the digital platform is tailor-made according to specific scenarios of the people's congress, with personal health code system included to help with COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control.

During the conference, deputies can quickly inquire about accommodation, seating, transportation, meals and other information through the conference feature and read conference documents and service guides as well.
