Chen Zhu, vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), attended the 144th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) via video link in Beijing on March 21.

Chen noted at the assembly that legislatures of all countries should play a greater leading role in addressing climate change and pursuing sustainable development in order to jointly foster a community of life for man and nature.
