BEIJING -- Wang Chen, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, met with Tran Thanh Man, Standing Vice-Chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly (NA), via video link on Wednesday.
Speaking from Beijing, Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China and Vietnam are friendly socialist neighbors and a community with a shared future of strategic significance. Under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and countries, the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has witnessed sound and steady development.
China's NPC stands ready to work with Vietnam's NA to play a positive role in carrying forward traditional friendship, enhancing political mutual trust, deepening practical cooperation, properly managing differences, and enhancing people-to-people ties, Wang said.
Tran Thanh Man said Vietnam attaches great importance to developing relations with China. Vietnam's NA is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with China's NPC and provide a sound legal environment for promoting comprehensive bilateral cooperation.
