A team led by Cao Jianming, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), inspected the enforcement of the law on promoting rural vitalization in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, from July 20 to 23.

After hearing the province's reports on the law enforcement, the team visited the cities of Mudanjiang and Harbin to learn about specific efforts in promoting rural vitalization, including a cultural protection program, a medicinal herb farm, a modern agricultural park, homestay bases, and rural environmental improvement campaigns.

Cao hailed the province's progress in advancing agricultural modernization, vitalizing the seed industry, and promoting the integrated development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries. He also noted the imbalanced rural-urban development and urged the province to address the problem.

More efforts are needed to ensure the full leadership of the Communist Party of China in solving issues related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers, establish a more scientific performance evaluation system, deepen reform to stimulate rural vitality, and strengthen the protection, inheritance and development of fine traditional rural culture in accordance with the law, said Cao.
