A team led by Wang Chen, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), inspected the enforcement of the law on promoting rural vitalization in Central China's Hubei province, from Aug 16 to 18.
Wang Chen, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said the law should be implemented robustly to vitalize the countryside, which is a major mission of China's modernization endeavor, with emphasis placed on the five key areas of industry, talents, culture, ecology and organization.

After hearing the province's reports on the law enforcement in Wuhan, the team visited the cities of Huanggang and Xianning to learn about specific efforts and programs for rural vitalization.
The team inspected the living environment, special agricultural products and integrated development of agricultural tourism in three villages, checked how companies have boosted the income of local farmers and promoted the use of quality crop varieties, and exchanged views with those engaged in the development of Qingzhuan Tea industry.

Wang acknowledged Hubei's progress in implementing the plans and decisions of the CPC Central Committee, enhancing the agricultural industry, and ensuring national food security and the effective supply of major agricultural products.
He also called for efforts to improve the implementation of the law, strengthen ecological protection and environmental governance in the countryside, further address concerns such as drinking water safety and sewage treatment, and help farmers gain a growing sense of fulfillment, happiness and security.
