The 14th China-Northeast Asia Expo kicked off in Changchun, Northeast China’s Jilin province, on Aug 23. Hao Mingjin, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
Hao said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of China's proposals of building a community with a shared future for mankind and of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). China will continue to adhere to a win-win strategy of opening-up, promote the building of an open world economy, and ensure that more fruits of development will benefit people of all countries in a more equitable manner, he added.

Hao stressed that Northeast Asia is one of the world's most dynamic growth regions, and that cooperation under the framework of the BRI continues to inject new impetus into regional cooperation. Northeast Asia has world-leading capabilities in scientific and technological research and development, and the economic development of each country in the region possesses comparative strengths, distinctive features and high complementarities, according to Hao. The favorable conditions have brought new opportunities and vitality to inter-regional high-quality economic growth, he said, noting that China is ready to make joint efforts with relevant countries to push cooperation in Northeast Asia to a new level.
