Li Hongzhong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, attended a reception for the 75th founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Sept 8 at the DPRK embassy in Beijing.

In his speech, Li warmly congratulated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK, and said that it has always been the unswerving position of the CPC and the Chinese government to maintain, consolidate and develop the China-DPRK relations. China is ready to work with the DPRK to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and countries, and push for greater development of China-DPRK relations, he added.

Ri Ryong-nam, DPRK ambassador to China, said that the DPRK is willing to join hands with China to continuously consolidate and develop the traditional friendship and cooperative relations between the two countries, and promote new development of the socialist cause of the two countries.
