On Jan 29, Xiao Jie, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, met with a multi-party delegation of Mexican parliamentarians led by Yeidckol Polevnsky, president of the Mexico-China Friendship Group of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies and former general secretary of the ruling National Regeneration Movement party of Mexico, at the Great Hall of People in Beijing.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on strengthening China-Mexico relations and enhancing exchanges between the political parties and legislative bodies of the two countries.
