Senior Chinese legislator visits BiH

Xiao Jie, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), led a delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) from March 21 to 24, at the invitation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

During the visit, he met with Denis Becirovic, chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Zeljka Cvijanovic, member of the Presidency of BiH, Marinko Cavara, speaker of House of Representatives of BiH’s Parliamentary Assembly, Nebojsa Radmanovic and Denis Zvizdic, deputy speakers of House of Representatives of BiH’s Parliamentary Assembly, Kemal Ademović, speaker of House of Peoples of BiH’s Parliamentary Assembly, as well as Nikola Spiric, deputy speaker of House of Peoples of BiH’s Parliamentary Assembly.

Xiao said that under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Presidency of BiH, friendship and cooperation between China and BiH have been continuously deepened.

China's NPC is ready to strengthen policy communication and exchange experience in state governance with the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH to better serve the development of bilateral relations, he added.

He also briefed the Bosnian side on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Chinese modernization and the second session of the 14th NPC.

The Bosnian side spoke highly of China's development achievements and BiH-China relations, and reaffirmed its resolute adherence to the one-China principle.

They also expressed their willingness to enhance the traditional friendship with China and will continue to play an active role in the Belt and Road cooperation as well as the cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries.
