Li Hongzhong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), met with representatives of the 8th China-France Young Leaders Program on March 25 in Beijing.
Noting that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, as well as the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism, Li said that China is ready to take this opportunity to make joint efforts with France to deepen practical cooperation and expand cultural exchanges under the guidance of the consensus reached by the two heads of state, especially in enhancing exchanges among young people.
He also briefed the French participants on the second session of the 14th NPC and China's economic and social development.
The French side expressed their willingness to give full play to the role of the China-France Young Leaders Program to contribute to the deepening of the friendship between the two countries.
