Peng Qinghua, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, met with Alexander Babakov, deputy chairman of the Russian parliament's lower house, the State Duma, in Beijing on Dec 13.

 The pair pledged to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, make good use of the platform of the joint working group of the China-Russia committee for parliamentary cooperation and deepen exchanges and cooperation between legislative bodies of the two countries to promote the development of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era.
