Xiao Jie, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, met with a delegation led by Cédric Perrin, president of Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces Committee of French Senate, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Dec 19.

During the meeting, Xiao presented the guiding principles of the third plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee, and exchanged views with the French guests on China-France relations as well as exchanges between the political parties and legislative bodies of the two countries.
