China's top legislator meets vice-chairman of National Assembly of Vietnam

BEIJING -- China's top legislator Zhao Leji met with Tran Quang Phuong, vice-chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, in Beijing on Wednesday.

Zhao, chairman of China's National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, said China is willing to work with Vietnam to enhance strategic communication, maintain solidarity and cooperation, join hands in advancing their respective modernization, and accelerate the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

He added that the NPC of China is willing to enhance exchanges with the National Assembly of Vietnam, engage in mutual learning on the building of a socialist country under the rule of law, and provide legal guarantees for practical cooperation between the two countries.

Tran Quang Phuong said the National Assembly of Vietnam is willing to work with China's NPC to enhance exchanges and mutual learning in legislation and supervision in accordance with the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and the two countries, and make legislative contributions to promoting reform and development in both countries.
