Xinhuanet Updated: 2026-03-16

Ong Tee Keat, former deputy speaker of the Lower House of the Malaysian Parliament, said he closely follows China's two sessions, paying particular attention to issues such as economic growth, employment and food security.

He noted that China's five-year plans reflect policy continuity and a long-term development vision. Ong also highlighted China's policy-making process, describing it as participatory democracy.

He added that Chinese modernization offers a new paradigm for the world, demonstrating that modernization does not necessarily mean Westernization.
