Li Hongzhong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and vice-chairman of China's National People's Congress Standing Committee, attended and addressed a reception in Beijing on April 30 to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Laos and the Year of China-Laos Friendship.
Li stated that under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, the China-Laos community with a shared future is making solid progress.
He emphasized China's readiness to strengthen strategic communication with Laos, promote mutually beneficial cooperation, deepen people-to-people friendship and create an even brighter future for China-Laos relations.
Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane said that Laos is willing to collaborate with China to achieve new results in building the Laos-China community with a shared future.
The reception was jointly hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Lao embassy in China.
