A new draft law on the protection of the Yellow River, the "mother river" of the Chinese nation, was submitted to the ongoing session of the National People's Congress Standing Committee for deliberation on Dec 20, 2021.
The amendment focuses on problems related to women's rights and interests protection that have become apparent over the past nearly 30 years since the law was last revised.
China is deliberating a new law to protect the fertile black soil in its northeastern regions as part of the efforts to ensure the country's food security and protect the ecosystem.
It stipulates that authorities in charge of managing public places should strengthen management, and requires them to ensure activities take place in a suitable area and at a suitable time, as well as suggesting they help monitor noise levels.
