The legislators hailed the country's draft environment tax law as "clear and practical," and called for improved rules on the use of tax revenue and penalties for tax frauds.
"These words and actions have openly challenged the Basic Law, hampered the normal operation of the authorities of the Hong Kong SAR and undermined the rule of law in Hong Kong," the statement said.
Legislators discussed a draft amendment to the law on promoting small and medium-sized enterprises on Thursday.
The proposal is consistent with a stipulation in the Law on Compulsory Education, which says compulsory education is a free, charitable cause with national financial support, said legislator Wu Heng at Tuesday's panel discussion.

The top legislature on Saturday revised four laws regulating inbound investment, with an easing of rules on foreign and Taiwanese investors starting businesses across China.
According to the draft, people working in the movie industry, including actors and directors, should strive for "excellence in both professional skills and moral integrity," and build good public images.
