CHANGSHA - The gross domestic product (GDP) of Central China's Hunan province totaled 4.58 trillion yuan ($720.1 billion) in 2021, up 7.8 percent year-on-year, local authorities said Monday.
The province's average GDP growth of the past two years reached 5.8 percent, above the national average of 5.1 percent, according to a government work report delivered at the ongoing fifth session of the 13th Hunan Provincial People's Congress.
The report noted a stable trend in the province's economic development, with year-on-year growth in investment, consumption and foreign trade in 2021 hitting 8 percent, 14.4 percent, and 22.6 percent respectively.
The province aims to achieve economic growth of more than 6.5 percent in 2022.
